حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «صَلَّيْتُ أَنَا وَيَتِيمٌ كَانَ عِنْدَنَا فِي الْبَيْتِ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً: فِي بَيْتِنَا خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَتَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي دَارِهِمْ، وَصَلَّتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ خَلْفَنَا».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “I and an orphan who was with us in the house, Sufyān said on one occasion: ‘in our house,’ prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ had come to visit them in their home. Umm Sulaym prayed behind us.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 161

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَبَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَهْرِيقُوا عَلَيْهِ ذَنُوبًا أَوْ سَجْلًا مِنَ الْمَاءِ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “A Bedouin came and urinated in the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said: ‘Pour a large bucket or vessel of water over it.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 162

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَالَ، فَنَهَوْهُ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «دَعُوهُ»، وَأَمَرَ أَنْ يُصَبَّ عَلَيْهِ أَوْ أُهَرِيقَ الْمَاءُ.

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “A Bedouin entered the mosque during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ and urinated. The people rebuked him, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said: ‘Leave him,’ and he commanded that water be poured over it.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 163

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «مَا وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ مَا وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِمْ، كَانُوا يُسَمَّوْنَ الْقُرَّاءَ». قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: «نَزَلَ فِيهِمْ: ‹بَلِّغُوا قَوْمَنَا عَنَّا أَنَّا قَدْ رَضِينَا وَرَضِيَ عَنَّا›». قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ: فِيمَنْ نَزَلَتْ؟ قَالَ: «فِي أَهْلِ بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ never grieved over an expedition as he grieved over them; they were called the Qurrāʾ, the reciters of the Qurʾān.” Sufyān said: “Regarding them was revealed : ‘Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord and He is pleased with us and we are pleased with Him.’” Sufyān was asked: “About whom was it revealed?” He said: “About the people of Biʾr Maʿūnah.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 164

قُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ: سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمًا قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ: «مَا وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ مَا وَجَدَ عَلَى السَّبْعِينَ الَّذِينَ أُصِيبُوا بِبِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ never grieved as deeply as he grieved for the seventy who were killed at Biʾr Maʿūnah.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 165

قُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ: سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمًا، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «حَالَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ فِي دَارِنَا». قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: «كَأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ: آخَى».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ established bonds of brotherhood between the Muhājirīn and the Anṣār in our house.” Sufyān said: “It is as if he meant: he established brotherhood.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 166

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ، وَكَانَ لَهُ حَادٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ: أَنْجَشَةُ، وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ أَنَسٍ مَعَهُمْ. فَقَالَ: «يَا أَنْجَشَةُ، رُوَيْدَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ was on a journey and had a cameleer called Anjasha. Anas's mother was among the travelers. He said: ‘O Anjasha, go gently with the crystal vessels.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 167

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُلَبِّي بِالْبَيْدَاءِ: «لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ مَعًا».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “He heard the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ reciting the talbiyah at al-Bayḍāʾ: ‘Here I am, O Allah, for an ʿumrah and a ḥajj together.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 168

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: أَهْدَى أُكَيْدِرُ دُومَةَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي حُلَّةً فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ حُسْنِهَا. فَقَالَ: «لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ أَوْ أَحْسَنُ مِنْهَا».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “Ukaydir of Dūma gifted the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ a fine robe, and the people marveled at its beauty. He said: ‘The handkerchiefs of Saʿd in Paradise are better, or more beautiful, than this.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 169

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ ثَابِتٌ لِأَنَسٍ: يَا أَنَسُ، مَسِسْتَ يَدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِكَ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ». قَالَ: «أَرِنِي أُقَبِّلُهَا».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “Thābit [al-Bunānī] said to Anas: ‘O Anas, did your hand touch the hand of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Show it to me so I may kiss it.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 170

قُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَصَوْتُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فِي الْجَيْشِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فِئَةٍ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ said: “The voice of Abū Ṭalḥah in the army is worth more than a full contingent of men.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 171

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: سَمِعَ قَاسِمٌ الرَّحَّالُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ: دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرِبًا لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ كَأَنَّهُ يَقْضِي فِيهَا حَاجَةً، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا مَذْعُورًا أَوْ فَزِعًا، وَقَالَ: «لَوْلَا أَنْ لَا تَدَافَنُوا، لَسَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ أَهْلِ الْقُبُورِ مَا أَسْمَعَنِي».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ entered a ruined enclosure belonging to Banū al-Najjār as if to relieve himself. He then came out to us startled and alarmed, and said: ‘Were it not that you would stop burying one another, I would have asked Allah to let you hear of the torment of the people of the graves as I hear it.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 172

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْمُخْتَارَ بْنَ فُلْفُلٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي الْأَوْعِيَةِ، فَقَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمُزَفَّتَةِ، وَقَالَ: «كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ». قُلْتُ: وَمَا الْمُزَفَّتَةُ؟ قَالَ: «الْمُقَيَّرَةُ».

Al-Mukhtār ibn Fulful reported: “I asked Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) about drinking from vessels. He said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ prohibited pitch-coated vessels, and said: Every intoxicant is forbidden.’ I asked: ‘What is a muzaffata?’ He said: ‘It is a tar-sealed vessel.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 173

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said: “Whoever intentionally lies about me, let him take his seat in the Hellfire.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 174

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ التَّيْمِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ مُتَعَمِّدًا» قَالَهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: «مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said: “Whoever lies about me, let him take his seat in the Hellfire, intentionally.” He said it twice. And on another occasion : “Whoever intentionally lies about me.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 175

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْحَاجٌ الضَّبِّيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ: «كُنَّا إِذَا كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَقُلْنَا: زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَوْ لَمْ تَزُلْ، صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ ارْتَحَلَ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “When we were traveling with the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ, whether or not we said the sun had declined from its zenith, he would pray Ẓuhr and then set out.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 176

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْهَرَمِ، وَالْبُخْلِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ would say: “O Allah, I seek refuge with You from incapacity and laziness, and from cowardice and decrepit old age, and from miserliness and the torment of the grave, and I seek refuge with You from the trial of life and death.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 177

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَقَارِبَةً وَصَلَاةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، حَتَّى مَدَّ عُمَرُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ and the prayer of Abū Bakr were similar , until ʿUmar prolonged the Fajr prayer.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 178

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: «كَانَ شَعْرُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْهِ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The hair of the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ reached to the halfway point of his ears.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 179

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ... فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ، ثُمَّ أَسْفَرَ مِنَ الْغَدِ حَتَّى أَسْفَرَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ؟ مَا بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ أَوْ قَالَ: هَذَيْنِ وَقْتٌ».

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ was asked about the time of the Fajr prayer... He commanded Bilāl when dawn first broke to call the iqāmah for prayer. Then the next day he waited until the sky brightened considerably, and then said: ‘Where is the one who asked about the time of the morning prayer? The time is between these two .’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 180
