Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ never grieved over an expedition as he grieved over them; they were called the Qurrāʾ, the reciters of the Qurʾān.” Sufyān said: “Regarding them was revealed : ‘Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord and He is pleased with us and we are pleased with Him.’” Sufyān was asked: “About whom was it revealed?” He said: “About the people of Biʾr Maʿūnah.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 164
