Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said, “Do not marvel at anyone until you see how his life is sealed, for the doer may act for a time of his life, or a while of his age, with a righteous deed such that, were he to die upon it, he would enter Paradise; then he changes and does an evil deed. And a servant may act for a while of his age with an evil deed such that, were he to die upon it, he would enter the Fire; then he changes and does a righteous deed. And when Allah intends good for a servant, He employs him before his death.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, how does He employ him?” He said, “He grants him success in a righteous deed, then takes his soul upon it.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 196
