حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا انْهَزَمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ نَادَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، اقْتُلْ مَنْ بَعْدَنَا انْهَزَمُوا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ كَفَى». فَأَتَاهَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ وَمَعَهَا مِعْوَلٌ، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ؟ قَالَتْ: إِنْ دَنَا مِنِّي أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ بَعَجْتُهُ. فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، انْظُرْ مَا تَقُولُ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ.
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Muslims were routed on the day of the Battle of Ḥunayn, Umm Sulaym called out: “O Messenger of Allah, kill those who fled and let you down!” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ replied: “O Umm Sulaym, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has sufficed .” Then Abū Ṭalḥah came to her and found her holding an axe. He asked, “What is this, Umm Sulaym?” She replied, “If any polytheist comes near me, I will rip open his belly.” Abū Ṭalḥah said to the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ: “O Messenger of Allah, look at what Umm Sulaym is saying!” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 149
