Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Abū Ṭalḥah used to fast a great deal during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ. After the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ passed away, he would not break his fast except when travelling or ill. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 103
