Sufyān ibn ʻUyaynah narrated to us that ʻAmr ibn Dīnār said, “Some people discussed the case of a man who enters the state of iḥrām for ʻUmrah and then exits it: may he go in to his wife before performing saʿy between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah? So I asked Jābir ibn ʻAbdullāh and he replied, ‘No, not until he performs saʿy between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah.’ I also asked ʻAbdullāh ibn ʻUmar and he said, ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ came and made seven circuits of the Sacred House, then prayed two rakʿahs behind Maqām Ibrāhīm, and performed saʿy between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah.’ Then ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar recited the verse, ‘Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) you have an excellent example.’” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 43
