حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: سَمِعَ عَمْرٌو، ابْنَ عُمَرَ: كُنَّا نُخَابِرُ، وَلَا نَرَى بِذَلِكَ بَأْسًا، حَتَّى زَعَمَ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ، فَتَرَكْنَاهُ.

Sufyān reported from ʿAmr , who heard Ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنهما) say: “We used to practice mukhābara , and we saw nothing wrong with it, until Rāfiʿ ibn Khadīj claimed that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) had prohibited it. So we abandoned it.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 11
