Ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنهما) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Do not enter upon these people who were punished [i.e., the ruins of Thamūd at al-Ḥijr] unless you are weeping. If you cannot weep, then do not enter upon them, for I fear that what befell them may befall you.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 2
