حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَضْرِبُ جَبْهَتَهُ بِيَدِهِ وَيَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ أَنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنِّي أَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ لِيَكُونَ لَكُمُ الْمَهْنَأُ وَعَلَىَّ الإِثْمُ أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Abu Razin said: 'I saw Abu Hurairah hitting his forehead with his hand and saying: "O people of Iraq! Do you claim that I would tell a lie against the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) so that it may be more convenient for you and a sin upon me?' I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'If a dog licks the vessel of anyone of you, let him wash it seven times.'"

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِذَا شَرِبَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If a dog licks the vessel of anyome of you, let him wash it seven times."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغَفَّلِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي الإِنَاءِ فَاغْسِلُوهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَعَفِّرُوهُ الثَّامِنَةَ بِالتُّرَابِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If a dog licks a vessel, wash it seven times and rub it with dust the eight times."

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If a dog licks the vessel of anyone of you, let him wash it seven times.'"

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ تَوْبَةَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَتَوَضَّأُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ، ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ قَدْ أَصَابَتْ مِنْهُ الْهِرَّةُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ ‏.‏

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I used to perform ablution from a single vessel, when the cat had drunk from it beforehand."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏"‏ الْهِرَّةُ لاَ تَقْطَعُ الصَّلاَةَ لأَنَّهَا مِنْ مَتَاعِ الْبَيْتِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Cats do not invalidate the prayer, because they are one of the things that are useful in the house."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ اغْتَسَلَ بَعْضُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي جَفْنَةٍ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ لِيَغْتَسِلَ أَوْ يَتَوَضَّأَ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ جُنُبًا ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ الْمَاءُ لاَ يُجْنِبُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "One of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) took a bath from a large vessel, then the Prophet (ﷺ) came and had a bath or ablution, and she said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I was sexually impure.' He said: 'Water does not become impure.'"

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً، مِنْ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ اغْتَسَلَتْ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ أَوِ اغْتَسَلَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ مِنْ فَضْلِ وَضُوئِهَا ‏.‏

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that: One of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) took a bath to cleanse herself from sexual impurity, then the Prophet (ﷺ) performed ablution and had a bath with the water left over from her ablution."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ تَوَضَّأَ بِفَضْلِ غُسْلِهَا مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas, from Maimunah the wife of the Prophet, that : the Prophet (ﷺ) performed ablution with the water left over after she had taken a bath to cleanse herself from sexual impurity.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I would take a bath from a single vessel."

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that his maternal aunt Maimunah said: "The Messager of Allah and I used to take bath from a single vessel."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الأَشْعَرِيُّ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ اغْتَسَلَ وَمَيْمُونَةُ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ فِي قَصْعَةٍ فِيهَا أَثَرُ الْعَجِينِ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Umm Hani that : The Prophet (ﷺ) and Maimunah took a bath from a single vessel, a large bowl in which they were some traces of dough.

It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his wives used to take a bath from a single vessel."

Zainab the daughter of Umm Salamah narrated from Umm Salamah that: She and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to take a bath from a single vessel.

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ كَانَ الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "Men and women used to perform ablution from a single vessel during the time of the Messenger of Allah."

It was narrated from 'Aishah that: The Prophet (ﷺ) and she used to perform ablution together for prayer.

حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مَخْشِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْفِرَاسِيِّ، قَالَ كُنْتُ أَصِيدُ وَكَانَتْ لِي قِرْبَةٌ أَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَاءً وَإِنِّي تَوَضَّأْتُ بِمَاءِ الْبَحْرِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Ibn Firasi said: "I was fishing and I had a vessel with me in which I kept water, and I used seawater for ablution. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: 'Its water is a means of purification, and its dead meat is permissible.'"

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ لِبَعْضِ حَاجَتِهِ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ تَلَقَّيْتُهُ بِالإِدَاوَةِ فَصَبَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ يَغْسِلُ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فَضَاقَتِ الْجُبَّةُ فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِنَا ‏.‏

It was narrated that Mughirah bin Shu'bah said: "The Prophet (ﷺ) went out to relieve himself and when he came back, I met him with a water skin and poured water for him. He washed his hands and his face, then he went to wash his forearms but his garment was too tight, so he brought his arms out from underneath his garment and washed them, then he wiped over his leather socks, then he led us in prayer."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنِ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذٍ، قَالَتْ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ بِمِيضَأَةٍ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ اسْكُبِي ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَسَكَبْتُ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ وَأَخَذَ مَاءً جَدِيدًا فَمَسَحَ بِهِ رَأْسَهُ مُقَدَّمَهُ وَمُؤَخَّرَهُ وَغَسَلَ قَدَمَيْهِ ثَلاَثًا ثَلاَثًا ‏.‏

It was narrated that Rubai' bint Mu'awwidh said: "I brought a basin of water to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: 'Pour it,' so I poured it and he washed his face and forearms, then he took fresh water and wiped his head, front and back, and then he washed his feet. He washed each part three times."

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي حُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ الأَزْدِيُّ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ، قَالَ صَبَبْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ الْمَاءَ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ فِي الْوُضُوءِ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Safwan bin 'Assal said: "I poured water for the Prophet (ﷺ) on journeys and as a resident, when he performed ablution."
