It was narrated from Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa that `Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: `Ask Allah, may He be exalted, for guidance and proper aim. When asking for guidance, think of directions when travelling, and when asking for proper aim, think of aiming an arrow.”

حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَلْ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى الْهُدَى وَالسَّدَادَ وَاذْكُرْ بِالْهُدَى هِدَايَتَكَ الطَّرِيقَ وَاذْكُرْ بِالسَّدَادِ تَسْدِيدَكَ السَّهْمَ.
